On 26 April 2019 NPAQ wrote to each political party asking what they can do for QLD Nurses.
We are pleased to report that we have received the following response via email.
Dear Ms Seaver
Senator Hanson has asked me to reply to your letter in relation to the role of the Nurses Professional Association of Queensland Inc.
We certainly do support the position that nurses should have a say in who represents them. Given that NPAQ is recognised under federal legislation the Queensland government should give similar recognition to it. I invite you to contact our office again after the election if you would like us to act on your behalf to pressure the State government to do this.
It is of concern that nurses are being accepted into university courses for training without any guarantee of a position at the end to allow them to complete their qualification. This is also an issue which I am sure Senator Hanson would like to discuss with both the Federal and State health ministers. Again, we can pursue that after the election.
