Common challenges in primary care: fracture management

A joint initiative between Metro North Hospital and Health Service and Brisbane North PHN

Join us for an evening of practical education on fracture management and immobilisation techniques, while networking with orthopaedic specialists and fellow GPs.

This interactive case-based and practical workshop will explore the principles of fracture management and bone healing including reviewing radiological imaging. The workshop will explore optimum treatment and management for patients with a range of common fractures and musculoskeletal injuries seen in the primary care setting.

The event will include opportunities to:

  • discuss and apply the general principles of fracture management and healing
  • discuss common signs of bone healing and radiology including red flags and escalation pathways to ensure safe and effective management
  • discuss and apply a range of immobilisation techniques for optimum healing
  • discuss current referral pathways to orthopaedic clinics in Metro North including the Musculoskeletal Primary Care Pathway.

Please see the event flyer for more information and to register.
