Common Threads Summit

Hosted by Brisbane North PHN and Brisbane South PHN

The Common Threads Summit invites present and emerging leaders with lived experience of alcohol and drug use, peer practitioners and allied/community healthcare practitioners to consider lived experience from the perspective of converging experiences and identities. Our thought-provoking speakers will guide the delegate learning experience.

Embracing intersectionality enhances health service responsiveness, reduces stigma and discrimination and encourages service user engagement. Through illustrating the complexity of the individual experience - the ‘a sum of all parts’ – this Summit aims to highlight how lived experience leadership contributes to increased quality in healthcare services. It also hopes to inspire the emerging lived experience workforce in Queensland Alcohol and Other Drug treatment settings.

The event offers healthcare providers and aspiring lived experience leaders an opportunity for professional development and networking.
