We surveyed our members about the proposed name change of Lady Cilento Children's Hospital. These were the results:
We surveyed our 3000+ members on 1 August 2018.
84% of members do not want to change the name of LCCH.
When asked on a scale of 1 to 10 how strongly they felt about this name change - the average result was an 8.
76% of members did not see any risk of patients avoiding LCCH due to the confusion of public/private.
85.5% of members would rather the money flagged for a name change be spent on further resources for the hospital.
We note that following the issue of our survey, the QNMU conducted a similar survey and returned a similar result.
It is our opinion that nurses are the best people to ask regarding patient sentiment as they spend the most time with them and talking to them.
